Maple Baseball Bat
My friend requested the design "Wonderboy" on his bat so I wood burned it in.
32 inches in length 29 ounces in weight "BB" are my friend's initials
Experimenting with different camera angles
I used a new technique called power sanding (using a random orbit sander while the bat was turning on the lathe) to achieve a very smooth surface.
I didn't have the drill bit to cup the bat.
I sketched the design before I wood burned the image
This is how I achieve the correct dimension. I smoothly connect the depths to get the right form.
This is my camera setup for filming.
This is my complete setup for turning the bat.
The blank I bought was a couple inches longer than needed. Maybe I'll use this blank to make a cup of some sorts.
The tools and material I brought from home.
Here are the instructions I compiled from many different sources. I added in notes and extra things to do here and there.
